Christmas will be a little brighter for local children this year thanks to the efforts of Clearwater area residents. Volunteers, headed up by the Clearwater Sons of the American Legion (SAL), spent part of their day last Saturday accepting toys and monetary donations for Clear Valley Toys for Tots in front of the Clearwater Legion. 

Along with the SAL, numerous local businesses are also supporting the cause and collecting donations, including the Clearwater Legion, Clearwater Corners, Flinstones, Clearwater Travel Plaza, Coborn’s, Clearwater Tire and Auto, Lake Central Bank, and Outlet Recreation.

By the end of Saturday’s event, four large donation boxes overflowing with toys were collected, along with a generous amount of money that will be spent purchasing additional toys to help fulfill the need locally.
