The Clearwater Township Board recommended approval during last week’s meeting for Jan Anderson to split a small parcel of land from a 144-acre lot to be re-zoned.
The property is located on the south side of Co. Rd. 128 (120th Street NW) along Bass Lake. The parcel is currently designated as resource land in the Wright County Land Use Plan.
Anderson said when the land use plan was developed, the committee may not have realized part of the lot was lakeshore property.
The township supervisors discussed the best use for the property and agreed the land is not appropriate for farming.
They voted to recommend a change in land use and a lot split of three or four acres to be rezoned as residential.
Final approval must come from the county.
Gravel Quotes
The board approved a quote from Annandale Rock Products to supply the township with 4,000 to 7,000 yards of gravel for 2018 at $4.20 per ton. They also agreed to keep the option of obtaining gravel from Johnson Materials in Silver Creek Twp. at $5.75 per ton if the hauling costs can be reduced.
Cartway
The board approved a cartway for Larry Schewe off Hwy. 24 south of 127th Street along the Fisher property. Maintenance Supervisor Mike Ludenia and some of the board members had looked at the road and measured to make sure there was a minimum of 18 feet.
Ray’s Addition
Plans to chip seal the roads in Ray’s Addition have been put on hold until next spring, said Township Clerk Jean Just.
When the board originally approved the project, it was with the understanding it would be put off until 2018 if it couldn’t be completed this year.
The project would cover ditch inslope work and chip sealing on the loop (Isaak and Irvine Ave.) and 163rd Street, which is about one mile.
