PINCH-HITTER. Becker Middle School instrumental music teacher Shelly Clemen stepped in when choir director Kristi Lovold was unable to attend school on Tuesday to rehearse her sixth-grade choir for their Christmas Concert that night. Clemen and the students worked well together, and produced a very enjoyable concert that evening, with Clemen conducting and Gretchen Bordson at the piano.
CHRISTMAS MUSIC. The Becker Middle School sixth-grade choir performed "Happy, Happy Holidays" as part of their annual Christmas Concert in the Performing Arts Center at BHS Tuesday night.

The Show Must Go On

The sixth-grade choir sustained a bit of a set-back on Tuesday when Choir Director Kristi Lovold was unable to teach and rehearse with them as they prepared for their annual Christmas Concert.

Undaunted, Becker Middle School Asst. Principal Chantel Boyer greeted the audience in the BHS Performing Arts Center with the  news that the director was unavailable, but that BMS instrumental music teacher Shelly Clemen had stepped into the breach and rehearsed the students instead. “The show must go on”, Boyer said, as she turned the evening over to Clemen and accompanist Gretchen Bordson at the piano.

For their part, the students performed admirably, beginning with “Give a Little Love at Christmas”, followed by “Light a Little Candle” and a “Peace on Earth (Silent Night)” medley with soloists Austin Clemen, Cerena Johnson, Jazlyn Toedter and Camryn Ramola.

The concert continued with “Happy, Happy Holidays”, “Have a Merry Christmas” and “Love Came Down” with soloists Joseph Drury, Alayna Moeller, Riley Norberg and Brooke Peterson.

The program continued with “Up on the Housetop” and concluded with “A Holiday Sing-Along”, which included singers leaping out of giant wrapped Christmas present boxes to wish the audience a “Merry Christmas” at the end of the performance.
