The Sherburne County Board gave County Administrator Steve Taylor a positive performance review during Tuesday’s board meeting.
Human Resources Director Tammy Bigelow said the board of commissioners met with Taylor Nov. 20 in closed session to discuss his performance from Nov. 4, 2017 to Nov. 4, 2018.
“He provided an overview of accomplishments and achievements performed during the rating period based on strategies established for him by the county board.
Mr. Taylor’s performance over the past year has exceeded the county boards expectations. He has recommended and implemented sound policies and strategies, demonstrated a strong commitment to the position and the county, displays a cooperative attitude and is loyal to the county board and staff.
The board looks forward to a continued emphasis on economic development, guidance on strategies to enhance staff communications, increased use of electronic self service for residents, and streamlining county operations.
The recommended action is a motion to approve a performance rating of “exceeds standards” from November 2017 through November 2018.
While the County Board approved an exceeds standards rating, there was mutual agreement that Mr. Taylor would receive a 5% salary increase, resulting in a $2,004 savings for the county. The 5% is an $8,015 annual salary adjustment.”
“I just want to thank the board for their review and I look forward to working with the board in the future,” Taylor said.
