‘Steel Horse Ride’ raises money for Angel Reins Stable

This past spring the St. Augusta American Legion Riders Post 621 sponsored the 2nd Annual Angel Reins Steel Horse Ride to raise money for Angel Reins Stable.

Located in St. Augusta, Angel Reins Stable is a ‘Place of Horses and Healing’, where ‘Rescue Horses Rescue Hearts’. The non-profit is completely volunteer and serves veterans, survivors of human trafficking, area non-profits, at-risk young girls, first responders, and others who serve the community, all at no cost.

It was a beautiful day for the ride, which consisted of three stops and totaled just under 100 miles. There was an incredible turnout of riders, nearly doubling the number from the first ride last year, and even more people joined in for the dinner and dance that followed.

The evening included dinner, live and silent auctions, and music provided by the Austin Healy Band.

This year’s ride was a sanctioned event of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA MN 48-3), an association of veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles.

Proceeds raised from the event will be used to service visitors of Angel Reins Stable and to help provide care for their horses.
