The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office has earned accreditation from the American Correctional Association for the Sherburne County Jail. The jail earned a 97% level for the Adult Detention Facility Standards for the ACA.
Sherburne’s jail is one of two county jails in the state to earn ACA accreditation, which requires at least a 90% on 391 ACA standards.
The designation was presented at the ACA’s Congress of Correction conference last weekend in St. Louis.
“This distinguished honor is a testament to all of the hard-working correctional officers, support staff and jail workers who strive for the highest standards every day,” said Patrick Carr, jail commander.
Carr added a special thanks to Accreditation Manager Lisa Eckhart, to Dr. Todd Leonard from MEnD Correctional Care, and to all jail staff and the 116 correctional officers for their efforts to obtain this high level of accreditation from the ACA.
The jail had 5,176 bookings last year.
