The Sherburne History Center will host their annual Ice Cream Social and the Sherburne Area Visual Arts Showcase as part of the week of celebrations for Becker Freedom Days the week of June 14 to June 20.
From Tuesday, June 15 to Sunday, June 20, the History Center will display the artwork of a variety of local artists. Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the art show will be open at the history center.
The fourth year SHC hosted the show, each year a unique variety of artists and artwork is on display. Eleven artists, displaying oil and acrylic paintings or photography and other media, will show their work during the week. The Sherburne Area Visual Arts Showcase is sponsored in part with grants from the Becker Lion Club and the Clear Lake Lions Club.
A second tradition, as part of the Freedom Days celebration, the History Center will host an ice cream social on Tuesday evening, 15 June, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free ice cream will be given out at the museum. In addition, in the culmination of the spring fund raising for SHC, Executive Director Mike Brubaker has promised to shave his head to thank all of the SHC donors to the annual spring fund drive.
The busy week is all part of the tradition of programs hosted by the Sherburne History Center to help commemorate Becker Freedom Days.
