Area residents should circle Wed., Dec. 18 on their calendars and make plans to attend the second annual DECA the Halls event at Becker High School. Sponsored by Becker High School’s DECA organization (Business Club), the event is a hit for the entire family.
Attendees should enter door number one at the high school and the event runs from 5-7:30 p.m.
The event is billed as an “exciting night of Christmas games, music, crafts, snacks, Santa, vendors and more.” Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy the festive activities, all while supporting the DECA organization which helps to promote an entrepreneurial spirit for students.
“The goal of this event is to bring a family friendly Christmas get-together to our community,” says DECA Advisor Kris Simon. “The games and activities are geared towards school-aged children, while the vendors and silent auction are aimed at adults.”
Simon hopes the event can help to create a sense of community for all who attend.
“Christmas doesn’t have an age limit and all are welcome to attend!” Simon says. “Out of this event, our business club gets to give back, make connections and network with local businesses. They work on marketing, finances and management skills to make this event a success.”
Anyone interested in sponsoring the event or donating to the silent auction can contact Simon at ksimon@isd726.org.
