Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater was an active place Wednesday night with members busy working on two service projects.
On one side of the building adults and youth were assembling Baskets of Promise, which are personal care kits that help impoverished people stay healthy. A church-wide effort, members collected enough towels, combs, soap, fingernail clippers and toothbrushes throughout Lent to create 105 kits.
The completed kits will be brought to Lutheran World Relief where they will be shipped to third world countries.
On the other side of the church, youth were making fleece blankets to be given to the church’s graduating seniors in May. Fleece for the blankets was donated by church members.
