SHERBURNE COUNTY Veterans Service Officer, Bruce Price.

Price Receives National Award

Sherburne County Veterans Service Officer Bruce Price was recently one of 10 honorees nationwide to receive the “Life, Well Run Community Hero” designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

The program highlights staff members who work with professional city, town, and county managers to improve the quality of life in their local communities. Price and his staff at the county offices see about 3,000 individuals and handle nearly 19,000 phone calls annually. Their efforts resulted in Sherburne County Veterans receiving over $57.6 million in federal program receipts in 2015.

ICMA launched Community Heroes last year. In November, managers sent in descriptions of their star performers - from public works to parks and recreation and everything in between.
The 10 heroes selected received a letter in early April from ICMA Executive Director Mark Ott, informing them of the award.

Price and the other heroes will be featured in short videos sponsored by ICMA on its Life, Well Run website LifeWellRun.org and YouTube.
