Polls Open At 7 Am At Clearview

Voters in the St. Cloud School District will cast a vote on a single referendum question in the Tues., Nov. 3 election, which includes the acquisition of land and construction of a new Technical High School ($113,800,000); renovation of Apollo High School ($46,500,000); enhanced school security at all district schools ($2,500,000) and technology/infrastructure upgrades ($4,200,000). The polls at Clearview Elementary School in Clear Lake will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

According to information provided by the St. Cloud School District, the current local school tax on a home valued at $150,000 in the St. Cloud area is $521.  Passage of the referendum would raise that figure to $739.18.  In comparison, a $150,000 home in the Sauk Rapids/Rice area now pays $741.34, and that would remain the same if the referendum passes.

The district press release further stated that the “bond referendum would address our outdated facilities, providing safe, affordable, accessible and equitable schools for all students and staff while equipping students with the technology tools and resources needed to succeed.”
