Palmer Day Promises Family Fun!

Minnesota’s biggest small-town celebration is scheduled for September 9th at Palmer Park. The annual Palmer Day celebration not only brings out most every resident of Palmer, but many visitors from surrounding communities looking to enjoy an action-packed day of family fun.

Once again, time-honored favorites such as the morning 5K Fun Run/Walk (9 a.m.), Parade (Noon) and Car Show (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will headline the festivities.

Once the parade is finished, the gem that is Palmer Park becomes ground zero for a slate of activities for all ages.

From Cozy Coupe races for the little tykes, to horseshoe and bean bag tournaments for the more mature, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Stop by this year’s “Community Service Corner” and see the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office K-9 squad, along with the brave men and women of the Clear Lake Fire Department.  There are  even plans for a Civil Air Patrol representative to explain to the crowd the vital functions that this organization provides.

Looking for food?  There’s sure to be a delicious treat to fit your fancy.  Looking to quench your thirst?  Look up the Clear Lake Lions and their refreshing beer garden, but remember to leave your coolers at home because all the money generated by Palmer Day goes back to local non-profit corporations.

To end the day-long party, gear yourself up to listen to the live music, the PCE Band in the afternoon and Pullstart Diesel to round out the evening.
