Palmer Day Is Nearly Here

Just like cooler weather, Palmer Day is right around the corner.

This year’s event is  Sept. 9 and will be held at Palmer Park all day.

The parade is the centerpiece of the day and it begins at noon at township hall. The St. Cloud Shriners are expected to participate as well as the Becker High School marching band and the Foley drumline. Prizes are awarded for the best and most unique float and the parade can be listened to live on AM 800 WVAL.

Palmer Day is jam-packed with fun activities with a Top 20 Car Show kicking things off at 9a.m. until 3 p.m. as well as a 5K Run/Walk. Kid’s games begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. as well as the popular horseshoe tournament. Bingo goes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., a bean bag tournament launches at 2 p.m. and a raffle goes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

DJ Bob Weber plays tunes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Outside Recess performs live from 7 p.m.to 11 p.m.

New this year is Sonflower Puppets with Barbi Cox from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in Palmer Park and there will be plenty to eat (sponsored by area non-profits) and drink (sponsored by the Clear lake Lions).
All Palmer Day proceeds are donated to local non-profits and event organizers ask that no coolers be brought into the event.

Enjoy!
