Palmer Day was held Saturday, September 11th and marked the twentieth anniversary of 9/11. The annual event was well attended and the weather was stellar. The parade route ran from the Palmer Town Hall/Knitski’s to the Palmer Park. The main drag in Palmer was lined with enthusiastic people of all ages thoroughly enjoying the festivities. Mike Ganz served as the announcer for the parade.
Throngs of people enjoyed activities at Palmer Park for several hours after the parade. There were several carnival games, bouncy houses and koosie car races for the children. Adult activities included horseshoe and bean bag tournaments and bingo for the adults. The event also featured a 5K walk/run.
St Lawrence Knights of Columbus (Duelm) were selling pork chops.
4-H Clubs and several non-profit groups were on site cooking up burgers, brats, cheese curds and mini donuts and serving soft drinks and beer at the event. Live music was provided at Palmer Park with the band Wingin’ It performing from 1 to 4pm. Smok’n Guns took the stage from 7 to 11pm at Palmer Park.
