During the August Orrock Township meeting, Clerk Chris Weber announced that she has decided not to run for reelection this year. Instead, Shelley Erickson will be running for the position unopposed. Weber offered to hire Erickson as the deputy clerk until the end of Weber’s term in order to train her to do the job.
Erickson introduced herself to the board. She has been an Orrock resident for 18 years, and has done a lot of work to help pass legislation on Cottage Foods at the state level. She is now looking for a new way to serve her community, and saw her opportunity in the town clerk position.
Sheriff’s Report
Sgt Barrett gave the report for the Sheriff’s Department. He noted a vehicle break-in at Ann Lake Campground where a window was broken to access a bag in the vehicle. The vehicle next to it in the parking lot also had its license plate stolen.

Primary Election
The primaries went well, with 20 absentee and 137 in-person voters. Election judges were over-staffed in order to give new judges a chance to train. Supervisor Anne Felber noted her appreciation, as an election judge, for being able to train on multiple stations throughout the day.
