Snuffy’s Landing has officially been rebranded as the Becker Lions Park at Snuffy’s Landing.
The little park, known to many Becker residents as a great little-known fishing spot, has seen many recent improvements thanks to generous donations from the Becker Lions Club.
The Lions have donated $78,000 to improvements at the park, with the City of Becker contributing all the labor. These improvements have gone to adding a pavilion honoring the Lions, a new playground, a new staircase to get down to the river from the uphill parking area, and other improvements.
Phil Knutson, Public Services Director for the city, noted that none of these improvements would have been possible without the generosity of the Lions Club. While improvements to the park were on the docket for the city, they would have come several years down the road and would not have been to the same scale. Knutson is also pleased that the community organization now has a legacy site. Lions members do a lot of good in the community, but never before have they had such an amazing, physical representation of all their hard work giving back to the community, and many of the Lions were excited to bring their families to enjoy the park’s new amenities in the upcoming warm months.
