Becker girls have crazy week

It was a full last week for the Becker girls track team, as the Bulldogs took third in Monticello, won the John Reimer Classic in Pillager and had a participant in the Hamline University Elite Meet.

Monti Invite

In Tuesday’s Monticello Invite, Becker went up against some very large schools and performed well in placing third.

Kailey Thompson posted a school record breaking race in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.51 to notch the win.

Other top three finishes for the Bulldogs included Salayna Allen (third in the 100),  Josie Reckelberg (third in the long jump at 16’5”) and second place finishes from both the 4x100 (Reckelberg, Thompson, Kali Schendzielos, and  Allen in 51.37) and 4x400 relays (Katelyn Brower, Abby Atwood, Adele Changamire, and Andie Changamire in 4:19.23).

Pillager Meet

Thursday the team went to Pillager for the John Reimer Classic, a meet named after Reimer-Kealy’s dad.

First place finishes were achieved by Reckelberg in the 100, barely edging out teammate Allen, while Brower won the 800, Thompson was tops in the 100 hurdles and Sophia Otto won the Pole Vault.  The same 4x100 was victorious, while the 4x400 team of Atwood, Kaylyn Rickard, Harper Miller and Brower picked up the win.

Hamline Meet

Last Friday was the Hamline Elite Meet, which brings together the top track and field athletes from Minnesota.  Thompson represented the Bulldog girls and she placed eighth in the 100 meter hurdles.
