Students Sydney Mastey and Joe Perry have been selected as the recipients of the 2014-15 Becker High School Triple “A” (Academics, Arts, and Athletics) Award.
The purpose of the Triple “A” program is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, on the athletic field and in the fine arts.
Mastey and Perry have excelled in the classroom and have been active in both the fine arts and athletic activities throughout their years at Becker High School. As the award recipients here in Becker, their applications have been submitted to Region 8AA and the region committee will select one male and one female to represent the region.
The Region 8AA male and female selections will be invited to the Triple “A” Award On-Court Recognition ceremony and banquet held in conjunction with the boys' state basketball tournament in March. MSHSL officials will announce the four Triple “A” Award recipients (Class AA and A) at the banquet.
The award recipients—a girl and a boy from both Class A and Class AA schools—will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship. In addition, Region 8AA will hold a banquet for the Triple “A” Award recipients from all Region 8AA schools this spring in Brainerd.
Becker High School congratulates Sydney Mastey and Joe Perry for their hard work and dedication in the classroom, in the fine arts, and in athletics, and for being selected as the 2014-15 Becker High School Triple “A” Award recipients!
