Hope Lutheran Church near Orrock hosts a weekly quilting session and has been since the 1940’s!
Ladies from the area attend the weekly quilting meetings. Neighboring churches and individuals from Big Lake and Elk River area also donate quilting material and supplies to the group. The local gals usually assemble over 200 quilts per year and donate them to a variety of organizations with a goal of blessing people in need.
Even when COVID-19 was wreaking havoc the past couple years and the ladies were not able to meet, they continued to work on quilts at their homes and still met their goal of donating over 200 quilts annually.
A local gal researched where there was a need for quilts and made a point as she drove to Florida for a family vacation before Christmas to stop in Kentucky and donate 50 quilts to tornado victims.
