North Dakota State University student Rachel Vogl, daughter of Dale and Jennifer Vogl, Becker, has been recognized for receiving the KLJ Engineering Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
Vogl was acknowledged during the 2018 College of Engineering Scholarship and Awards Reception Oct. 4 in the NDSU Memorial Union Great Plains room.
The college awarded over $300,000 in scholarships to more than 160 students. The event featured remarks from Scott Pryor, associate dean for undergraduate programs in the College of Engineering.
“It’s clear that scholarships play a significant role in the lives of our students. And we wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the generosity of our donors who choose to make an investment in our students at NDSU by giving generously to those scholarships,” Pryor said.
Vogl is a junior majoring in civil engineering with a minor in natural resources management. Her activities at NDSU include engineering ambassadors, NDSU Steel Bridge, Society of Women Engineers and American Society of Civil Engineers.
While at Becker High School, Vogl was a star basketball and soccer player and golfer.
The scholarship is for the 2018-19 academic year.
