Wright County Sheriff’s Office announced last week that a Level III sex offender, Duane Lloyd Swanson, 47, moved to Clearwater March 1.
Swanson has a history of sexual contact with adolescent male victims ranging in age from 12 to 14. He was known to at least one of his victims, but his relationship to another victim remains unclear, according to law enforcement.
Swanson has served his sentence for past offenses and was released in May of 2013. Authorities emphasized that Swanson is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed upon him by the court.
All sex offenders are assigned a Level I, II or III classification when they leave prison, and Level III is reserved for those individuals who are believed to be at the highest risk to re-offend, according to the Minnesota Dept. of Corrections.
The information was released in cooperation with the Community Notification Act, but the sheriff’s office noted that any abuse of the information to harass a registered offender is unacceptable and could be charged as a crime.
Swanson is a white male, 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 244 pounds. He has blue eyes and a large build.
