Kolbinger wins mayoral race

Becker

In a closely-contested race for the Mayorship of Becker, Mark Kolbinger received 1,590 votes to Tracy Bertram’s 775 to gain the mayoral seat on council come January. Bertram was running for her third term but was ousted by Kolbinger in Tuesday’s election.

Becky Olmscheid and Mike Doering retained their seats on council by receiving more votes than challenger, Greg Lindbom. Olmscheid tallied 1,171 votes while Doering had 1,056. Lindbom received 1,017 votes.

Becker School Board

Troy Berning, Ryan Hubbard, Harmony Marie Klingenmeyer and Connie Robinson all ran for three seats on the school board. Berning, Robinson and Hubbard prevailed with 2,057 votes for Berning, 1,878 votes for Robinson and 2,618 votes for Hubbard. Klingenmeyer received 1,077.

Big Lake

Paul Knier was re-elected mayor, running unopposed. Paul Seefeld and Ken Geroux won the two seats up for election, knocking out Robert O’Leary and Bryce Treadwell. Seefeld had 2,270 votes and Geroux 1,979.

Big Lake School Board

Chelsey Hancock, Derek Nelson and Amber Sixberry ran for the board and all were elected to seats with Hancock receiving 4,440 votes, Nelson 4,501 votes and Sixberry 4,279 votes.

For School  District Question 1, 4,782 voters said “yes”. For Question 2, 5,024 voters said “no” and for Question 3, 5,357 said “no”.

Big Lake Twp.

Bruce Aubol ran unopposed for the Supervisor Seat 3 and received 2,779 votes. Incumbent Mark Hedstrom won his seat as Supervisor 4 over Nathan Gaida, 2,237 votes to 827. Laura Hayes ran unopposed for Supervisor 5 and received 2,665 votes.

Orrock Twp.

Dalton Keiderling ran unopposed for Supervisor C and received 1,400 votes. Peter Owen outlasted Incumbent Gary Goldsmith for Supervisor D seat, garnering 793 votes to Goldsmith’s 713. Shelley Erickson ran unopposed for Twp. Clerk and received 1,351 votes.

Clearwater/CL

Incumbent Andrea Lawrence Wheeler defeated Robert Preston for the mayoral position, 496 votes to 432. Kris Timothy Crandall and Corissa Everett ran for a seat on the council. Crandall prevailed with 635 votes to 539 for Everett.

Nancy Ann Senn ran unopposed for a seat in a special election and garnered 736 votes.

Clearwater Twp.

Jerry Raisanen beat Fred Mische for Supervisor B with 372 votes to 259. Rose Thelen ran unopposed for Supervisor C seat and received 561 votes. Cassie Kenning ran unopposed for CW Twp. Treasurer and received 595 votes.

Clear Lake City

Mayor Tim Goenner ran unopposed and received 339 votes. Sabrina Miller beat out Incumbent Stafany Janisch for city council with 295 votes to Janisch’s 245.

State

Incumbent Shane Mekeland, representing District 27A, defeated his challenger, Kathryn Geary in Tuesday’s election with 16,485 votes to 5,826 for Geary. In District 13A, Incumbent Lisa Demuth outlasted challenger Cindy Aho with 5,447 votes to 2,396. In District 29A, Incumbent Joe McDonald beat out challenger Chris Brazelton, 18,080 votes to 7,579.

In Minnesota’s 10th Judiciary District, Incumbent Helen Brosnahan won her race over Nathan Hansen, 218,665 votes to 173,317. 

For Supreme Court,Incumbent Natalie E. Hudson beat Stephen Emery for Chief Justice 1,526,027 to 870,510. For Associate Justice Seat 6, Incumbent Karl Procaccini prevailed over challenger Matthew R. Hanson, 1,319,660 to 1,001,486.

In Minnesota’s 12th Court of Appeals, Incumbent Diane B. Bratvold beat out challenger Jonathan R. Woolsey by 1,434,447 votes to 815,048.

Counties

Sherburne County

For District 1, Andrew Hulse ran unopposed and was re-elected. In District 5, Brad Schumacher ousted Lisa Fobbe with 5,781 votes to Fobbe’s 3,342.

Wright County

Derek Vetsch ran unopposed for Wright County Commissioner and received 10,290 votes.
