Palmer Park was packed with people enjoying the festivities.
Palmer Day kicks off with the 10th anniversary of the 5K Run/Walk.

Huge Crowds Celebrate 18th Annual Palmer Day

The weather was perfect and the crowds were huge for last Saturday’s 18th annual Palmer Day celebration. The day kicked off with the 5K Fun Run/Walk with 124 participants, a record number. First place in the men’s division was Mike Timm with a time of 19:42. Missy Trenz won in the women’s division with a time of 20:32, and first place in the 14 and under division was Will Rick with a time of 27:22. 
 
There were also a record number of cars at the Top 20 Car Show, which ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 
At noon the street was lined with hundreds of people for the parade. First place for best float was awarded to Rock on Trucking, Palmer Wireless won second place, and third place went to the Redneck Yacht Club.
 
Gary and Karen Schuldt were named Palmer Day 2016 king and queen, however due to health reasons Gary was unable to attend the event.
 
After the parade Palmer Park quickly filled with people enjoying the food and numerous activities. The day ended with Outside Recess rocking the festival with music from 7 to 11 p.m.
