A little rain at the start of the day didn’t stop the Clearwater Legion Riders’ annual Homeless Vets Run fundraiser, with participants in the motorcycle run donning rain gear before they started out.
With kickstands up at 10:30 a.m., the motorcycle run returned to the Clearwater Legion in the afternoon where the rest of the community eagerly joined in the fun.
Along with a pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m., the event included a silent auction, live auction, and gun raffle drawing. Auctioneer Todd Utpadel also entertained the crowd before using his auction skills to get the crowd bidding.
Afterward the band Radio Nation rocked the crowd until late into the evening.
The fundraiser once again proved successful, enabling the Legion Riders to continue their tradition of donating to worthy veterans’ causes. Members of the organization expressed thanks to the community and to the numerous businesses and individuals for their donations and continued support.
Held the first Saturday in August, the Homeless Vets Run is the Legion Riders’ biggest event of the year. All funds raised go toward helping veterans.
