GRADING. New BHS English teacher and volunteer judge Hannah Miller examined Megan Hoppe and Julia Abfalter's History Day project Wednesday afternoon during the judging round of the competition. The project told the story of the massacre at Wounded Knee during the U.S. Government's war with the Sioux
HISTORY DAY. Laura Niday, right, prepared this story board for her presentation on "The Bonus Army" in the annual History Day competition at Becker High School last week. Her report details the events that took place when WW I veterans marched on Washington, D.C. in an effort to claim the bonus the government had promised them for their service, which ended in gunfire. The 48-star U.S. flag is a family heirloom, she said.
JUDGING. One of the volunteer judges graded Erin Aho's History Day story board which dealt with the fight for water rights on the Colorado River. The winning entries will advance to the next round of competition on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus in April.
