Hall of Fame 2022

Two prominent Becker citizens and graduates of Becker High School were honored last Wednesday as this year’s Hall of Fame award winners.

Fran Seeley - Class of 1969

Fran is a lifelong resident of Becker and proudly shares, she is one of four generations in her family to graduate from Becker High School.  During her time at BHS, she was involved in band, choir, student council, newspaper, yearbook, FHA, and cheerleading.  Upon graduating, Fran attended and graduated from St. Cloud Beauty College.  Fran’s employment has strong connections to the community, as she and her husband owned and operated multiple area businesses, including Lonny’s Grocery, Lonny’s Variety, Ultimate Video, and Ultimate Video II.  Fran is currently the Deputy Clerk for Becker Township.  Fran’s civic engagement has included contributions to the following: Becker Woman of Today, Red Cross Bloodmobile Chair, American Legion Auxiliary, an election judge, Relay for Life, Dollars for Scholars, Cancer Survivor Dinner, two Becker All School Reunion committees, Meals on Wheels, and helped multiple times with the All Night Graduation Party.  Fran was one of the key contributors to the book “Becker Schools first 100 Years.”  Fran and her husband Lonny raised two children, Deanna and Darin.

Thomas Hammer - Class of 1972

Tom was president of his graduating class in 1972.  In 1979, Tom and his brother Gary started a partnership, T&G Farms, where they farmed 20-30 acres of potatoes. In 1980, Tom renamed the farm TJ Farms and started growing potatoes on his own. In 2017, Tom started Precision Rain of MN and became a Reinke Irrigation, Great Plains Equipment, and Beck’s Seed Dealership.  Tom’s community involvement included: Centra Sota Cooperative board member, past President and member of St. Cloud EAA, past President and member of the Clear Lake Lions, past President and member of MN Area II Potato Council, and past President of the Clearwater Food Shelf. “Can do” was an understatement for his ambition. With all of his success in business and community involvement, Tom took great pride in being a “kind person.” Tom and his wife Penney raised two sons, Hunter and Tanner.
