BECKER GRADUATE DANI GIRTZ was awarded a $2,000 scholarship from Doosan Bobcat for her pursuit of a marketing major.

Girtz Awarded Scholarship From Bobcat

Danielle Girtz of Becker was one of nine second-year NDSU students to receive a $2,000 scholarship to go towards her major in marketing.

Nineteen first-year students also received scholarships for educational studies focusing on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

Doosan Bobcat North America and North Dakota State University (NDSU) announced this month the 2017 scholarship recipients benefiting from an endowment largely funded by Doosan Bobcat.

Doosan Bobcat pledged $3 million in 2015 and the State of North Dakota matched the donation making the combined gift of $4.5 million the single largest gift to establish a scholarship endowment in NDSU history.

The nine second-year students — including Girtz — were: Danielle Girtz, Becker, Minnesota; marketing; Calvin Aichele, Beulah, North Dakota; agricultural and biosystems engineering; Jack Baker, Kasson, Minnesota; computer science; Alex Johnson, Circle Pines, Minnesota; mechanical engineering; Jackson Kimball, Osage, Minnesota; computer science; Samuel Pasco, Hutchinson, Minnesota; mechanical engineering; Amber Pliscott, Osceola, Wisconsin; mechanical engineering; Makala Simon, Saint Augusta, Minnesota; civil engineering; Alexander Tostenson, Perham, Minnesota; mechanical engineering.

Support of STEM programs continues to be a key area of focus of Doosan Bobcat community involvement initiatives, especially those at the collegiate level, because they help generate community growth and fuel innovation. These educational and research areas are important to the company’s continued growth and success.
