(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted by the Central Minnesota Rethos Organization).

Love gingerbread? A fan of architecture and construction? Dream of building a custom home or designing a structure? Then check out this class!

Learn the basics of building construction and architectural design at this all-ages, family-friendly, kid-oriented workshop taught by Eric Cheever, the fun-loving Exhibits & Collections Curator for the Stearns History Museum. Eric will demonstrate the inner workings of construction and design and teach about basic building elements during this hands-on class.

Engage ones inner architect or builder while creating ones own structural masterpiece using icing and gingerbread. It’s sure to be a sweet treat!

Gingerbread Architecture: The Sweet Elements of Design will be held twice at two separate locations in central Minnesota. The first class takes place at The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum in Little Falls, Sat., Nov. 20. The second class will be held Sat., Dec. 4, at the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud. Both classes run from 11 a.m. to noon. Masks are required and class size is limited to allow for social distancing.

General admission is $10. Sliding scale admission options are also available. Register at rethos.org/classes.

This class is brought forward by Rethos: Places Reimagined, and organized by the Morrison County Historical Society, its Central MN Education Coordinator. Rethos Education is financed in part by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.
