Freedom Days Fun!

A BBQ Bash hosted by the Boy Scout Troop 92 officially kicked off their week long get together last Sunday at Becker Furniture World’s green space area.Best ribs were judged that afternoon and ribs were served to the public at 3 p.m.

Monday, the medallion hunt clues started with clues posted to the BCC website. The community center held a Bubble Party later in the day for youngsters to come out to the Splash Pad and get soaked or dance along with the DJ. The St. Cloud Financial Credit Union business along bank street held a lunch/supper in the afternoon to throngs of visitors. There was also a magic show with Magic Bob held at the Becker Library.

Tuesday, Steil Insurance served walking tacos at lunchtime and Bill’s Superette gave out free ice pops and held a free naked bee pizza tasting event. 

On Wednesday, automobile drivers with chipped windshields were encouraged to stop by the American Family Insurance - Amy Chmielewski office to get their chips repaired for free by Abra Auto.  Sherburne State Bank held their annual customer appreciation lunch on the lawn in front of their building where they also had a bouncy house for kids and ice cream desserts. The BCC held a senior popcorn bingo event later in the day. Bill’s Superette had free 1-scoop ice cream treats and held a game of Plinko for fun prizes. G-Will Liquors had door buster specials.

Thursday, the Professional Building tenants held a drive-thru lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Grace Lutheran Church held a Salute to First Responders fundraiser with food and music.

Friday, a car show was held in the parking lot at Becker Schools while a Farmer’s Market was held at Becker Furniture’s parking lot. Live music was played and food was served at the Becker Legion from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday, the ever-popular parade will take off at 2 p.m. from the BHS parking lot and travel through parts of the city to the delight of parade watchers. This year’s Grand Marshall is Daisy Kent. The Becker Dance team will hold a performance at the green space at 4 p.m. while the dancers from Starz Dance Studio will perform right after.

From 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., food, music, games, inflatables, face painting, petting zoo, raffles and shopping will occur in the green space at BFW.Music by NTE Entertainmant will conduct from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. while Radio Nation will play from 6 p.m. to 10.

And of course, the spectacular fireworks show will fill the skies at dusk.

It’s a week worth remembering!
