Doty retires

Kevin Doty, the president of Sherburne State Bank, is retiring after ten years with the bank.

“I’m getting old,” he said, laughing. “It was just the right time.”

Doty says he’s going to miss his phenomenal staff.

“I interviewed almost everyone here,” he said.

He stated that his staff is exceptionally talented and well trained, the bank having provided funding for further education for many of them.

He also says he’s going to miss his customers.

During Doty’s time with Sherburne State Bank, he helped to open a new branch in Monticello, a project he’s especially proud of. There was a great opportunity for growth there, and the project broke even in record time.

He says he’s also proud of the community service he and his staff do. In order to be an officer in the bank, employees are required to be a part of a community organization, such as serving on the township board or being a member of the chamber of commerce.

“It’s been a lot of fun!” he said.

But he’s looking forward to retirement. He and his wife plan to stay in the Becker area for a while, then move up north to be close to family.
