The Becker High School Choir closed out their school season with their 13th Annual Spring show featuring a tribute to Disney movies Monday evening at the PAC. The show was directed by Gretchen Bordson with Craig Vogl playing drums.
Becker’s acappella group opened the evening shows singing, “When You Wish Upon A Star” followed by soloists, Corey Christensen and Haley VanZee singing “Be Our Guest”.
A small drama was performed by Grace Klapak, Abbie Halvorson and Izzy Swanson as the Queen of Hearts and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum as they introduced the first set.
Under the title, Classics Medley, “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” was featured first followed by Erin Fagin singing, “How Do You Do and Shake Hands”. The entire troupe sang “Bibbidi Bobbido Boo” as well as “I’ve Got No Strings”.
Seven dwarfs proceeded to sing, “Hi Ho” and they included Rachel Eisenreich, Reilly Cencer, Carolyn Lyon, Jamie Ulsby, Grace Roehl, AJ Buntrock and Maddie Corey. They also sang “It’s a Small World.”
Nataya Houle sang “I’m Late” and Sam Pounds — dressed as Snow White — belted out a fantastic rendition of “Someday My Prince Will Come.” She was followed to the stage by Sarenity Klein, who sang, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.”
Nathan Bachman got the crowd laughing with his rendition of a squeaky Mickey Mouse while Cammie Varney, Halvorson and Maddie Janssen all joined in to sing, the Mickey Mouse March.
The second set saw the evil queen and evil witch introduce the Disney Divas Medley and they were played by Belle Edling and Angelina Scheele.
Sydney Bordson sang, “Candle in the Water” and Macy Erson belted out, “Colors in the Wind.” Soloists Ella Nettestad and Victoria Gibson sang, “Reflection,” and Jenna Swalboski sang, “Part of Your World.”
Hope Amundson vocalized the song, “How Far I’ll Go” while muses Kelli Lumley, Elizabeth Verwey, Abigail Sarazin, Sophia Diaz and Haley Schwintek joined Hercules (Tyler Wasserbauer) to sing, “Zero to Hero.”
For the Disney Pals Medley, Lauren johnson and Trent Dublin played Yzma and Kronk from the Emperor’s New Groove. The entire acappella group sang, “Trashin’ In The Camp” to kick things off along with soloist Danny Solsvig and drummer Ethan Quill.
Lane Roske gave a beautiful rendition of “In Summer” and “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” was sang by all.
Andrew Reed and Jake Smith crooned, “Hakuna Matata” from Lion King and seven soloists — Amber Vogl, Tatum Storkamp, Melissa Friendshuh, Faith Hamacher, Tori Jundt, Hannah Klapak and Allison Sanderson sang, “Life’s A Happy Song.”
Becker gymnasts Katie Wilke and Miranda O’Brien pitched in their expertise for “Friend Like Me” with a “Heeley Solo” by Eisenreich.
The third set closed out with Emily Krogstad carolling, “Hawaiian Coaster Ride” to the delight of the audience.
Malificent and Mother Gothel, played by Megan Nelson and Tatum Storkamp introduced the fourth set, Disney in Love Medley.
A ukulele group including, Emma Tweten, Sam Pounds, Emily Krogstad, Shalyn Quernemon, Kya Nelson, Cole Cook, William Schendel and Blake Paulson, sang “The Lava Song.”
Laura Niday sang “Beauty and the Beast” and Jarrett Aumock and Larissa Tollefson sang, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”. Brandon Olson and Mikayla Hiltner did a duet featuring the song, “A Whole new World,” and Kassidy Severson and Alyssa Thielen sang “I See the Light.”
“Kiss the Girl” was sung by the entire acappella group from the movie, The Little Mermaid as well as “Love is and Open Door.”
Brendan Potter and Christian Hanowski played Jafar and Lago from Aladdin and introduced the fifth set, Guys of Disney Medley.
“Frozen Heart” was performed and followed up by Justin Kimmerle singing, “Chim Chim Cheree”. Mason Makarrall sang, “I Wanna Be Like You” and the whole troupe joined in for “The Bare Necessities.”
Evan Schafer, Nathaniel Hed, Dylan Materu, Hunter Voulgarakis, Danny Solsvig, Carter Aanenson sang, “I’ve Got a Dream” with characters played by Tate Weise, Jake Smith, Logan Boyer, Hunter McCalla, Adam Bauman, Andrew Schneider and Branden Roemer.
Rhiley Larson and Ian Kimmerle performed, “Gaston” and Alex Nelson, William Schendel, Blake Sandbo, Dylan Murphy, Sam Hintermeister, Christian Hanowski, Hunter Voulgarakis and David Myers sang, “I’ll Make a Man Out Of You.”
Carter Aanenson played Lord Farquaad from Shrek to introduce the next set called, Music of Shrek (Isn’t this Dreamworks?)
Ethan Quill and Faith Zinken sang, “Hallelujah” and the rest of the ensemble sang, “Accidently in Love” and “I’m a Believer”.
Kayla Mittelstadt played a convincing Cruella DeVil and Carly Baumgartner and Julia Abfalter were convincing as her dalmatians as they introduced, Disney on Stage Medley.
Rhiley Larson, Grace Jacobson, Allyna Storms, Melody Swanson, Laura Pierce and Grace Soderquist kicked things off with the song, “Circle of Life.” Tap dancers came out to perform during “Step in Time” featuring the footwork of Bridget Buchholz, William Schendel, Mikayla Hiltner, Maddie Schmidt, Allison Schmidt, Allie Gorman, Melody Swanson, Izzy Swanson and Allison Schugel.
Mary Goenner, Allie Hendrickson, Brendan Potter and Elizabeth Moeller were joined by dancers, Lexa Hosier, Amber Vogl, Sarenity Klein, Elizabeth Verwey, Abbie Halvorson, Lauren Baloun and Grace Klapak to do the song, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."
The final featured a performance by the choir seniors — Gabby Proefrock, Sierra Dvorak, Tyler Wasserbauer and Emily Krogstad — singing, “At the Beginning/Go the Distance.”
Daisy Kent had a solo which featured the song, “Let it Go” from Frozen. Maria Sakry performed “Touch the Sky”, Bridget Buchholz and Logan Boyer sang, “You Are the Music in Me,” and the whole troupe joined in for, “Life is a Highway.”
Rachel Tauer, Jacob Drury, Hannah Bengtson and Greg Rice sang, “We’re All In This Together”, accompanied by dancers, Logan Boyer, Tyler Lindquist, Frankie Baker, Brandon Abrahamson, Parker Seeley, Josh Fobbe and all the villains.
