Wright County Sheriff Sean Derringer recently  announced he will not be running for a third term as sheriff.

In a statement released last Friday, he said serving as sheriff has been one of the the greatest honors of his life.

He also noted faith, family, fellow law enforcement personnel, and the community as key to his success.

He also said he’s encouraging Chief Deputy Matt Treichler to seek election and continue the work of leading the office with experience, integrity, and a deep commitment to public service.

Sheriff Derringer also said he looks forward to spending more time with family.
