Business members gathered at Zylla-Rolf Studio in Becker Thursday, October 13 for the quarterly meeting of Clear Valley Business Connection (CVBC).
A recap of Music and Movies in the Park events held at Eldorado Park in Clearwater this past summer was given. The event was deemed very successful and plans are already underway for summer 2023 events. Some suggestions were offered to the committee and will be implemented for next summer’s event(s) to make the event even better.
Members had a short discussion of a Meet The Candidates forum for Clearwater City Council candidates, which will be held in the meeting room at Clearwater Legion Thursday, November 3rd at 6pm.
Pastor Dave Fogal of Tri County Alliance gave an update on the newcomer packets that are being distributed. A decision was made to order plastic bags going forward for the program. Until this point, bags have been donated by Mary Kay consultant Glenna Soenneker. The group expressed their gratitude to Soenneker for donating bags for the program since its inception, but agreed it will be ideal for the newcomer packets/bags to transition to personalized CVBC newcomer plastic bags.
Membership dues have not been raised in several years. It was decided to raise the membership rate to $75 per year for 2023, which is still very economical.
The next meeting of the CVBC will be held at Tri County Alliance Church in Clearwater January 12th, 2023 and will feature the popular chili contest.
