Living Waters Church in Clear Lake is inviting the public to the community picnic they’re hosting at Goenner Park Sept. 10. From 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The event is free and open to everyone,” said Deb Moengen. “It’s going to be a farm-themed old-fashioned community picnic amd day of fun.”
The event will begin with an outdoor worship service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a free lunch at noon, consisting of hot dogs, beans, corn on the cob and dessert.
At 12:30 “Heart of Worship,” a Christian music group out of Bemidji, will be playing kids music to kick off the fun and games.
“The games are all old-fashioned and are for all ages, children to adult,” said Moengen. “Including gunny sack, three-legged and wheel barrel races, bean bag toss, bobbing for apples, fishing game, shoe and boot scramble, egg toss and hay bale toss. There will also be tattoos and face painting.
Heart of Worship will again be playing from 2 to 3 p.m., and the event is expected to wrap up around 4 p.m.
Living Waters Church has been in Clear Lake for 25 years, located on Church Street across from McDonald’s Meats.
“We wanted to reach out to the community and get to know our neighbors,” said Moengen.
