The Clearwater Lions once again manned the grill for Camp Friendship’s annual steak fry, the 21st year they’ve done so.
Camp Friendship’s 24th annual steak fry was held May 5, raising money to help support camper scholarships and programs.
The event was once again a huge success with 432 tickets sold, resulting in a full house and keeping the Clearwater Lions busy at the grill. Attendees had a choice between steak and chicken, along with cheesy potatoes, green beans, carrots, bread and cookies.
An Annandale Boy Scout troop helped bus tables and take out trash.
Along with the meal, a silent auction featured 55 themed baskets, and tickets could be purchased for the four grand prizes, a 48” Samsung Smart TV, a pizza oven, a wooden chest, and a wine rack with wine bottles. There was also a cash raffle drawing with a $1,000 cash grand prize and a $500 cash second prize.
Attendees could also participate in a liquor raffle, which is similar to a meat raffle, in which tickets could be purchased for the chance to win bottles of liquor that had been donated by individuals.
The event raised over $20,000, meeting the goal of organizers.
“The steak fry is such an enjoyable event that the community looks forward to attending each year,” said Brooke Jensen, True Friends development officer. “A huge thank you to the group of volunteers and Clearwater Lions Club for their hard work and generosity in making such a wonderful fundraiser for True Friends possible.”
