Clearwater and Clear Lake Legions hold cemetery services

Legionnaires from Clearwater and Clear Lake performed a number of cemetery honors on Memorial Day, remembering fellow vets who didn’t make it home.

Beginning at St. Marcus Cemetery at 9 a.m., the group next traveled to the cemetery on Hwy. 10, then on to Highland Cemetery in Hasty. From there they headed to the Clearwater area, stopping to perform services at Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Luke’s Cemetery, and Acacia Cemetery.

At each cemetery, names of the fallen were solemnly and respectfully read off.

Members of the Clearwater Legion Riders were part of the group traveling from area cemetery to area cemetery, bearing American flags and an MIA flag to help honor those who gave their lives for their country.

The Legionnaires ended their route at the Clearwater American Legion, where a brief ceremony was held followed by a lunch.
