The Clearwater and Clear Lake senior class of 2017 may have graduated from different area high schools, but they all have talent, knowledge and a drive to succeed. These young adults are ready and eager to start the next phase of their lives.
Logan Aleshire, parents Chris and Leah Aleshire
Aleshire is graduating from St. Cloud Technical High School, and plans to attend a technical and community college electrical program. In high school he played baseball.
His favorite memories are playing baseball with his buddies, and his advice to future seniors, “Just focus for one more year!”
Danae Brezinka, Clear Lake, parents John and Felicia Brezinka
Brezinka is graduating from St. Cloud Technical High School and plans to attend St. Cloud State University next year to major in biomedical science and minor in Spanish. During high school she was involved in softball, SADD (students against destructive decisions), National Honor Society, and volunteering at St. Marcus.
She will miss seeing her friends every day and staying busy. Her advice to future seniors, “Don’t hop on the senior slide and keep in touch with your good friends!”
Tyler Doering, Clearwater, parents Mark and Amber Doering
Doering is graduating from St. Cloud Technical High School and plans to attend Alexandria Technical & Community College for law enforcement. In high school he participated in wrestling.
He will miss some of his teachers, who he said are really awesome, and his classmates. His favorite memories include prom and meeting lots of new people and becoming friends with them. His advice to future seniors, “Don’t senior slide, it’s really stressful towards the end. I don’t recommend it.”
Rachael Knafla, Palmer Township, parents Robert and Colleen Knafla
Knafla is graduating from St. Cloud Technical High School, and plans to attend the University of Minnesota, Morris. In high school she participated in theatre and school plays, Gay Straight Alliance and volunteered as a face painter at summer events.
She will miss being in St. Cloud and living in such an interactive and diverse city, as well as seeing her friends regularly and some of Tech’s finest teachers and students. Her advice to future seniors, “Celebrate your individuality; the more you know and accept about yourself, the more you can share with others. Practice moderation between schoolwork and having fun. Don’t let people talk down to you. Understand that you don’t know everything, but don’t let that justify ignorance.”
Abby Luttschwager, parents Craig Luttschwager and Teresa Berezni
Luttschwager is graduating from St. Cloud Technical High School, and plans to attend Minnesota State University Moorhead. In high school she participated in orchestra, golf team, sign language club, board member of Youth as Resources, church volunteer and Link Crew.
Her favorite memories from high school are the music trips she took with the school orchestra to Florida, New York, Memphis and New Orleans. Her advice to future seniors, “When people say high school goes by fast believe them! It went by way faster than I ever imagined!”
Anthony “Tony” Olson, Clearwater, parents Brian Olson and Lisa Praska
Olson is graduating from Annandale High School, and plans to attend the University of North Dakota for computer science. In high school he participated in fall play, one act, jazz band, mock trial, speech and National Honor Society.
He will miss all the people and teachers who were always really nice and respectful, which allowed for a great high school experience. His advice to future seniors, “Enjoy it while it lasts, it goes fast.”
Kaleigh Reiter, Clearwater, parents Keith and Rebecca Reiter
Reiter is graduating from Annandale High School, and plans on attending Rasmussen to become a medical assistant.
She will miss seeing her friends, getting to know everyone, and going to Wright Tech in Buffalo and seeing her como class every day. Her advice to future seniors, “Keep up your grades, get your homework done or you could fail a class, and get work done before hanging out with friends.”
Kayla Vasecka, Clearwater, parents Chris and April Vasecka
Vasecka is graduating from Sauk Rapids Rice High School and plans to take a year off and then attend the Chicago Institute of Art. During high school she was involved in DECA.
She will miss the regular routine of seeing all the people who matter to her before class. Her advice to future seniors, “Cherish the moments.”
