Clear Lake Fire Dept. Holds 14th Annual Open House

A little rain didn’t deter local residents from stopping in at the 14th annual Clear Lake Fire Dept. fire and rescue open house last Saturday.

Along with the firefighters, the department’s mascot, Leo the firefighting dog, was on hand to greet attendees of all ages, who were treated to a free lunch as well as demonstrations, prize drawings and educational materials.

As well as being gifted with free t-shirts, kids in attendance were excited to try their hand at various activities in order to receive prizes and giveaways.

Even with the rain the line for the ever-popular fire truck rides was long, with youngsters wearing plastic fire helmets jumping in excitement while awaiting their turn to go for a spin around town.

The rain cancelation of the North Memorial helicopter was the only downside to the day, however, the new addition of Sherburne Co. dispatchers, who were on hand to talk about what they do for the community, and fire department equipment that was on display for attendees to check out, made up for it.

The Clear Lake Fire Dept. extended thanks to firefighters, their families, and the community for their continued support.
