Car Train Crash In Clear Lake

Shortly after noon on Thursday the Minnesota State Patrol was notified of a car-train crash on Hwy. 24 in Clear Lake.

Terry Brockman, a 57 year-old man from Clearwater, was driving his 1987 GMC suburban westbound on Hwy 24. He drove through the railroad crossing gates, which were down, and was struck by a southbound Burlington Northern Train.

Brockman was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

Hwy. 24 between Hwy. 10 and State Street was temporarily closed after the accident, but reopened at 2:30 p.m.
