Car Break Ins Reported In Princeton, Zimmerman Area

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several reports of car break-ins in the Zimmerman and Princeton areas, some of which were caught on home security camera.

Craig Hoheisel’s cameras captured people rummaging through two of his family cars shortly after midnight last week – not even a half-hour after he’d gone to sleep.

“You never think it’s going to happen to you,” he said. “(Yet) here I am, watching it on my phone that someone’s going through my vehicles.”

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office posted videos and still images of other incidents in the same area. No arrests have been made, but the Sheriff’s Office has boosted patrols, according to a spokesperson.

The Sheriff’s Office also issued another reminder to the public to lock their car doors and to not leave valuables in their cars. In Hoheisel’s case, the suspects only took some change and lottery scratch-offs.

“Until recently, we’ve never locked our doors. Never had to,” Hoheisel said. “But we lock them now.”
