Busy Month At Becker Library

The Becker Public Library will offer Preschool Storytime program for children age three to six on Tue., Oct. 20 from 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. Activities will include stories, songs and crafts designed to build kindergarten readiness. Pre-registration is required. 
 
The library will host a Lego Club for children age five to 13 at the library on Mon., Oct. 26 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. The library provides the Lego building blocks, and the children are asked to bring only their imagination. Attendance limit is 10, and pre-registration is required.
 
Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to “Halloween Storytime” at the library on Tue., Oct. 27 from 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. There will be spooky Halloween stories, games, songs and crafts. Costumes are optional, and encouraged.
 
Children age five to 12 are invited to “Read to Elsie” at the library on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Elsie is a certified therapy dog, and she and her handler will provide companionship and undivided attention as children read stories. Each session is 15 to 20 minutes. Pre-registration is required, contact the library for further details and to sign up.
 
The library is offering a genealogy program for adults and teens on Thursday, Oct., 29 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Ariel Kirst, a Great River librarian based in St. Cloud, will show participants how to use Ancestry Library Edition for genealogy research. This excellent tool provides access to census and other records from the United States and other countries.
 
Ariel will be available for questions as participants begin their search. Attendance is limited, and pre-registration is required.
