A 61-year-old man from Buffalo died after a crash on Hwy. 55 Monday afternoon. The man was identified as Doug Richard Long of Buffalo.
According to a crash report from the Minnesota State Patrol, an 18-year-old Buffalo man (Alex John Olson ) rear ended Long’s Buick Lesabre that had stopped to make a left turn from Hwy. 55 into a parking lot near Hwy. 25 just before 3:30 p.m. The impact pushed Long’s Buick into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by a Chevy Impala, driven by an 86-year-old man from Maple Lake identified as Alex Paul Pachan. Pachan also had a passenger (Judith Ann Pachan, 81) and both were transported to the Buffalo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Long suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, where he died. It was reported he was not wearing a seatblet at the time of the accident. Alcohol was not involved and the State Patrol was assisted by Allina Ambulance, Buffalo Fire, Buffalo Police Department, Wright County Sheriff and the MN DNR.
