THE MANY VOLUNTEERS FROM THE AREA GIRL SCOUTS gathered around Santa and Mrs. Claus for a group photo. The Girl Scout volunteers worked the BCC Breakfast with Santa event Saturday by setting up tables, clearing tables and serving wherever they were needed.
TWO-YEAR-OLD TEDDY RUSCH (L) and his 12-year-old sister, Stella (R) posed for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus during Saturday’s breakfast event at the BCC. The Rusch kids were with mom and dad, Chad and Katie, of Clearwater.
KAELYN DRAYNA, left, and Natalie Yuker (R) spent some time during the Breakfast with Santa event to do some coloring.

Breakfast With Santa A Big Hit With Youth And Adults

Old Kris Kringle and his lovely bride relinquished the comforts of the North Pole to visit kids from Becker for the annual “Breakfast with Santa,” event Saturday morning.

The gymnasium was decorated in the reds and golds and silvers of the season as the local Girl Scouts did the setup, the cleanup and the take down at the event. Tables to the side were set up for drawing and coloring, where children could take provided crayons and create artistic masterpieces.

Food was provided and served by the Becker Lions and that included pancakes, eggs, sausage, milk, coffee and orange juice. While some ate, others gathered in a long line from one end of the gym to the other to greet Santa and Mrs. Claus when they arrived at the center.

Some excited and some apprehensive faces gazed in wonder at the bearded man and his missus as they entered the room and found a seat at the head of the line. Kids could hardly wait to get the chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas and pose for photos in front of their parents or grandparents.

Santa and Mrs. Claus did their best to stem the kids’ fears and assured them he would be back in the area visiting them on Christmas Eve.

The BCC would like to thank the Becker Fire Dept. for bringing Santa over to the BCC by fire truck for a grand arrival.  Thanks also to the Becker Lions and the local Girl Scouts for preparing and serving an awesome breakfast.

A reminder, Mrs. Claus will be returning to town to participate in Saturday’s “Cooking with Mrs. Claus” event at the BCC. Mrs. Claus wants to help all the kids in the Becker area create Santa’s favorite cookies.

Cooking with Mrs. Claus is for children ages 4-8 and runs from 9-10:30 a.m. Cost is $10 (members) or $15 (non-members).
