A Big Lake man was arrested last week after threatening a police officer.
Big Lake police said officers were dispatched to a domestic threats complaint on Nov. 12 at about 8:45 a.m. During the investigation, police determined Daniel J. Dwyer, 24, would be arrested for domestic assault and threats of violence toward the victim.
The officers placed Dwyer under arrest, and while they were escorting him to the squad car, he attempted to pull away from them and resisted, the department said.
Then, while transporting Dwyer to Sherburne County Jail, Dwyer said one of the officers should be “assaulted” and that he’d “take out a cop” after he was released, police said.
Police said Dwyer continued, stating that the officer better “watch his back.”
He was charged with felony threats of violence against the victim, felony threats of violence against an officer, and second-offense domestic assault.
