Graduating seniors, proud parents, program donors and award presenters gathered for the annual Becker High School Senior Scholarship Program last Wednesday evening in the school auditorium. Stipends from a host of local businesses and organizations were presented, along with several continuing memorial scholarships.
The evening began with a welcome from BHS Principal Sandy Logrono, who then introduced the first presenter, Dr. Brent Scheideman, who presented the first scholarship on behalf of Scheideman Chiropractic & Body Shop. BHS counselors Heather Eigen and Margaret Smude presented a number of scholarships, including awards from the Becker Choir, Becker Education Association, Becker JayCees Alumni, Veit-Vonco Co., Santiago Lion’s Memorial, Murphy Chevrolet, Centra Care Health Monticello, Coborn’s/Cashwise and the Central MN Farm Show-St. Cloud Chamber.
Other presenters included Becky Mix, Becker Band Boosters, Patrick Thorn, Bernick’s (St. Cloud Chamber), William Kiffmeyer, Clear Lake Lions, Chris Zalomsky, Monticello Masonic Lodge, Jennifer Potter, Becker PTSA, Carleen Peterson, Becker American Legion Auxiliary, John Riebel, Becker American Legion, Dan Smith, Becker/Big Lake Knights of Columbus and Ken Fiereck, Connexus Energy.
