Parading across the Performing Arts Center stage to cheers and good-natured ribbing, six young men and six young women dressed in their finest were introduced as the 2019 Becker High School homecoming court Thursday. The 12 candidates were nominated by their peers to represent the Bulldogs in their homecoming celebrations.
The event began with an enthusiastic performance from the BHS band, who entertained the crowd and boosted school spirit as students, staff and guests begin to fill the auditorium.
After everyone was settled, the homecoming candidates were introduced in pairs, with a brief biography of each read off. After the introductions, the 12 candidates danced and lip synced to a musical montage.
Next it was time for the main event, crowning the 2019 Becker Bulldogs homecoming royalty. Allison Hill, Jillian Olson, Keeley Holm, Chloe Rothstein, Grace Tillmann and Halle Murphy stepped up to the front of the stage holding hands. After a brief moment of anticipation, Jullian Olson received the princess tiara and Grace Tillmann was crowned homecoming queen.
Next it was the men’s turn. Austin Berning, Josh Fobbe, Kyle Cleaver, Cole Cook, Aaron Gregory And Parker Seeley lined up on stage. Ramping up the crowd’s excitement, Parker Seeley was named this year’s prince and Aaron Gregory was crowned homecoming king.
The newly crowned royalty reigned over Friday’s Powder Puff game, that evening’s football game against Delano, and the homecoming dance that followed.
