TEACHERS OF THE YEAR. Four Becker educators were honored at the annual Teacher Recognition Program Thursday by being named a "Teacher of the Year" by a vote of their peers in each of the district schools. HONORED. Becker Primary School teacher Pam Thompson was honored at the annual Teacher Recognition Program Thursday afternoon at the Becker Middle School. Her colleague Nate Bucher introduced her and spoke of her many accomplishments in teaching and beyond. She then received a bouquet of flowers, and the traditional brass school bell given to long-serving Becker educators was presented by Supt. Dr. Stephen Malone.

Becker Teachers Honored For Service

Awards, bouquets and plaques were presented to a host of Becker teachers Thursday afternoon at the annual Teacher Recognition Program in the Commons at the Becker Middle School.
 
Becker Education Association President Eric Austin welcomed the guests and honorees to the program, and spoke about the value of educators and the honors they were about to receive.
 
Mary Ann Rindelaub then presented the honored retirees for 2015, with BPS teacher Nate Bucher providing an introduction for his retiring colleague Pam Thompson.  Supt. Dr. Stephen Malone then presented Thompson with the brass school bell, the traditional gift to retiring long-service teachers in the district.  Retirees Steve Whittaker and Janet Baughman were unable to attend the ceremony.
 
Other long-serving teachers honored included the following: Mark Graham and Margaret Miller, 30 years; Shanna Sequin, Steve Whittaker and Kristi Lovold, 25 years, and Randy Kragerud, Steve Kollman, Joan O’Brian and Mark Kolbinger, 20 years.
 
Teachers of the Year
BMS teacher Tonja Hanson presented the awards for the four individuals who had been elected “Teacher of the Year” in the four district schools by a vote of their peers.  The 2015 honorees are: Josh Ihrke, High School; Tracy Hare, Middle School; Jennifer Harmoning, Intermediate School, and Erika Rusin, Primary School.
