AT THE CAPITOL. BHS football player Quinn Raedke and his family spent a day at the Capitol recently, where Quinn “shadowed” Sen. Dave Brown (R-Becker) for a day to learn about the legislative process. Raedke was inspired by a letter the team received from Brown congratulating them on their state championship victory.

Becker Student Spends Day With Sen. Brown

When a member of the Becker High School football team saw a congratulatory letter from State Senator David Brown commending them for their state championship victory, he decided to take the communication a step further.  Since he is very interested in politics, Quinn Raedke asked if he could come to the capitol and shadow Sen. Brown for a day during the current Legislative session.
 
Brown met with Raedke and his family two weeks ago, showing them around the Capitol and giving them the chance to see the Legislature in action from an “insiders” perspective. It was “a pleasure” to have them join him at the Capitol, Brown said.  He also said that other students who would like to see the legislature in action in the same way should contact his office as shown below:
