The Becker Sons of the American Legion (SAL) held a successful craft sale last weekend, with several area artists and collectors offering their products for sale.
Visitors were able to browse numerous vendor booths, while also having the chance to see the recently remodeled interior of the Becker American Legion. Members and volunteers have put a great deal of effort, time and craftsmanship into the interior, as the club has successfully reclaimed and refurbished the former Fire Hall into a nice venue.
For the craft sale, each vendor pays a very reasonable rental fee that goes towards the SAL. From there, all the money earned by each vendor is theirs to keep, leading to a “win-win” for both the organization and individual small business owners.
Concessions were also available at the event, while there was also a Toys for Tots collection drive.
SAL Commander Andrew Lee also highlighted a poster that showed a number of the local groups that receive funding each year from the organization.
“We want people to know that when they support us, those funds go back into the community,” Lee said.
Dave Anderson continues to serve as the Vice-Commander of the SAL, while Lee also celebrated the role that the Auxiliary members play in the success of the group.
According to Lee, the Sons of the American Legion is made up of “sons and grandsons of service members.” He also says the group is always looking for new members and meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Becker American Legion building.
This year’s event was the 2nd annual Fall Craft Sale and Lee says plans are to continue with both the fall and spring craft sales.
