June 27 at 7:41 pm, Becker officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1100 block of 25th Ave SE, Becker, regarding a medical emergency.

 

Officers arrived on scene and tended to a male with rescue personnel. Ultimately the male party became belligerent and verbally abusive to people still at the scene.

 

An officer intervened and attempted to place the male party under arrest. The person fought with the officer, swinging at the officer and pushing him to the ground, while attempting to leave. The officer was eventually able to get the male under control and place him under arrest.

 

Arrested was Jason Balowski (33), Becker. He was transported to the Sherburne County Jail pending charges of 4th Degree Assault on a Police Officer. Other charges to be determined. The officer received minor injuries and did receive medical attention at the Monticello Hospital (he was not transported). He was released. Becker police were assisted by the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office. They did not name the officer.
